Alberta Girls Parliament - Page Program

Who: Guides, 1st Year Pathfinders 
(10-13 years old at time of event)

General Information:

Pages will be part of Alberta Girls Parliament, learning about parliamentary procedures, debate structures and the role of Pages in the AGP 'House' during a Session. Pages will take part in a two night sleepover at Guide House, attending four debates in total at the Providence Renewal Centre. 

Page duties during a Session will include delivering messages between Delegates, Parliamentarians, the Clerk and Sergeant-at-arms, refilling water jugs as needed through the Session and supporting ceremonies as needed. Before debates, all Pages will gather in the Auditorium with the AGP Speaker, Clerk, Sergeant-at-arms and 2 AGP Guiders. The Guiders will go through the Page program book with the girls, familiarize them with the layout of the AGP 'House' and the role that the Pages will play during the Session. There will be some role playing with the Speaker, Sergeant-at-arms, Clerk, and the Pages so that the Pages can feel comfortable with the role that they will be playing during the session.
