Program for the Pages is between 1.5 - 3 hours, depending upon the debate session. There are four debate sessions during the Alberta Girls' Parliament, each lasting approximately 1 hour.

General Information:

Upon arrival at Providence Renewal Centre, Pages will check-in and receive a name tag and a Page Program booklet (1/2 hour before the debate begins).

All Pages will gather in the Auditorium with the AGP Speaker, Clerk, Sergeant-at-Arms and 2 AGP Guiders. The Guiders will go through the Page program book with the girls, familiarize them with the layout of the AGP 'House' and the role that the Pages will play during the Session. There will be some role playing with the Speaker, Sergeant-at-Arms, Clerk and the Pages, so that the Pages can feel comfortable with the role that they will be playing during the Session.

Page duties during a Session will include delivering messages between Delegates, Parliamentarians, the Clerk & Sergeant-at-arms, re-filling water jugs as needed through the Session and supporting ceremonies as needed.

When the Session commences, the Pages will be sitting in their assigned seats. They will do their Paging duties during the debate of the Session (approximately 1 hour).

For the 2nd and 3rd Session, the total time that the Pages are present is approximately 1.5 hours from start to finish.

First Session: For the 1st Debate, the Pages are expected to arrive an hour before the Opening of Parliament and go through the orientation noted above. Some may also be included in the Opening Ceremony. They are expected to be seated through the Opening of Parliament (about 30 minutes) and are welcome to mingle during the recess (about 30 minutes) between the Opening and the First Session. Once the First Session is adjourned, the Pages can leave. Total time is approximately 3 hours.

Fourth Session: For the Fourth and final Session, the Pages are again expected to arrive a half hour before the commencement of the Session. They will receive their orientation as noted above under "General Information" and do their Paging duties for the Session. They will remain for the Prorogation of Parliament (about 30 minutes), after which they will be free to leave.
