BC Provincial International Event 2024 

Date: Tuesday July 2 - Saturday July 6, 2024

Location: Camp McLanlin (Abbotsford, BC)

Who: Guides, Pathfinders, and Rangers
(must be 12+ years by July 1, 2024)

Cost: $525 (includes GST)

Applications Open: February 6, 2024

The BC International Committee would like to invite you to go "Around the World in Four Days"! Come experience and appreciate different cultures while getting prepared for travel. We will get you ready to navigate trains (under and over ground), planes, and cities. Currencies; how to convert and budget for a trip. Learn how to pack for where you want to go; what luggage, how much and what to bring (We will be inviting an outdoor gear company to guide us through it). See where other girls have travelled and explore the possibilities for you. Each night you will get an authentic taste of the world and be entertained. Who knows, you might meet a future travel buddy at this camp! 

Application Details -- Please read in full before applying 

Who: 75 youth will be selected

Cost: Cost for those selected will be $525 (includes GST). This includes all costs associated with this event (program, meals, accommodation).
If youth require financial support, please check with your Unit, District, and Area to see if there is financial assistance options available for this event. 
Youth members may fundraise part of their trip cost by following the fundraising policy and procedures. 

Transportation: Financial assistance for travel costs will be considered based on your home location in relation to camp.
 

References

All applicants must provide at least one (1) reference (Guiding or Non-Guiding) who is able to speak about their character and drive for attending this event. 
Please send your reference the reference form link to complete before April 20, 2024. 
Applications without a reference submission will not be considered. 

It is your responsibility to tell your reference the details of the event and to give them plenty of time to meet your deadline.

You will be notified via email if you have been selected in May 2024. 

Please note that the billing process at the end of the form is a formality. There will be no money charged to you for submitting your application.
