Description:
A bike rodeo is a great way to teach children safe cycling practices and help build their confidence with their bicycle use. This event is made up of a series of stages, each dealing with an important aspect of safe cycling. Participants will have their bicycles inspected for any obvious safety concerns that may limit their participation. Cyclists will then learn about and practice bicycle handling skills that will increase their enjoyment and confidence. Police officers from Toronto Police - Traffic Services hope by educating children with safe bicycle use around your community it will become a sustainable source of transportation, exercise, and family fun. They will demonstrate some basic handling skills and address the importance of all cyclists following the rules of the road.
Youth members must be able to comfortably ride a two-wheeler. It is mandatory that youth bring their bicycles and helmets. There are no bicycles available on location. Both youth and adult members must bring a completed waiver to this event.
