Paddle and Explore Day Event - Canoeing, Swimming, and land based camping skill activities!
*Please note: A valid swim test and / or boating test is required for each member (adult and youth) participating

Your Camping & Outdoor Advisors are excited to host a Fall Paddle and Explore Event this September!
This event is open to all branches and units. Priority registration will be given to units originally registered for the postponed Spring Paddle and Explore Event (June 7 or 8), however new and returning units are also welcome to register.

Paddle and Explore is a Canoeing Day event for all units and branches. There is an optional Weekend camping experience offered, however space is limited. Register early to secure your spot! The weekend camping experience will be located at St. Malo Provincial Park and Group use Campsite

Youth will participate in Voyageur Style Canoeing (Sparks/Embers), Tandem canoeing (Guides/Pathfinders/Rangers), Swimming, outdoor skills and wide games. Guiders should be prepared to participate fully by swimming and helping out the facilitators. Canoeing will be led by Wilderland Adventure Tour Group guides on St Malo Lake.

Registration opens August 3rd and closes September 1st. Please only register members who will be participating. You will not be able to withdraw a participant and no refunds will be made after September 1st as there is a 2 week cancellation policy.

Please note that Swim/Boat tests will be the responsibility of the unit/families. The Camping Advisors will not be hosting any swim/boat tests this fall. All youth and adult members will need a boat/swim test or equivalency in their IMIS record by September 2nd to go in Tandem or voyager canoes!

Additional Details:

-  Units will be responsible for submitting their own Safe Guide paperwork and their first aider.
- There will be staggered start and end times. Units will need to register over two time blocks if their unit is larger than 20 due to the number of youth the third party company can accommodate at once.
- A kit list will be provided in our post-registration package for the Day event portion - not the overnight camping. Unit's will be responsible for overnight camping portion - we just have a site booked.

If you have any further questions, please reach out to mb-campingoutdoors@girlguides.ca or mb-campingoutdoors2@girlguides.ca. We will do our best to accommodate unit preferences.
