Hollyburn Chalet - Work Party Registration

Hollyburn Chalet, or "Burnabee Chalet" as it became known, was originally built in 1934, then taken apart and rebuilt in its present location in 1940. It's been a warm and welcome part of Girl Guide heritage since 1963.
Hollyburn Chalet is most popular during winter. To ensure fair access, first booking privileges are extended to volunteers at the annual Hollyburn Work Party.
Our annual fall work party is when we replenish propane tanks, store a season's worth of wood under the cabin, clear brush, carry out minor maintenance tasks and paint indoors and out. Units must be represented by at least one guiding adult over the course of the weekend as we need to update everyone on the new booking process and timeline.
When you sign up for the work party, there will be space to indicate your 3 camping dates in priority order along with one additional date in either November, December, or April. Once the work party weekend is over, we will do our best to place people according to their requests. By the end of September, all placements will be confirmed and the calendar will open for other units.
Please bring:
Work gloves, sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing (rain or shine), sunscreen, insect repellent, your lunch/food for the day, plenty of drinking water, hand tools suitable for brush clearing, and dishtowels.
If you have a wheelbarrow/wage for hauling firewood, or something suitable, please bring that as well.
Please note: The collection of billing information at the end of the form is a technicality. There will be no payment for registering for the work party.
