Description:
Guide units, you are invited to a fun-filled tent camping weekend at Camp Teka - Tekarama 2026: Camp Scene Investigator.
If you cannot attend for the full weekend, but would love to come for the day, we do have a few spots available for girls only. If you are coming for the day, please arrive by 9:30 a.m. and pick up at 9:30 p.m. There is no option for Adults Day only.
What will Guides do?
- Friday night crafts
- Extract DNA from fruit
- Learn about body evidence
- Identify the mysterious white substance
- Orienteering
- Sleuth like a bat
- Participate in the camp-wide game, trying out a series of physical and mental challenges
- Solve the camp mystery
- Campfires
- Guides Owns
Meals and snacks are provided to all participants. Peanut-free and vegetarian diets can be accommodated.
All participants will receive an event crest.
A kit list will be provided to all registered units before camp.
Pitch your unit tents, then join us for a Friday night activity and campfire. On Saturday, Guides will visit different stations and participate in hands-on activities based on our theme; Camp Scene Investigator. Saturday evening, join us for a wide game and campfire. Limited tents are available to borrow if your unit does not own any.
At the event Guiders are responsible for supervising their own unit and ensuring Safe Guide ratio is met for their unit. During Saturday's program, Guiders will be assigned a patrol and be responsible for the youth in their patrol.
Safe Guide
- The event planning team will manage the Safe Guide submission for this yellow-level event on behalf of the participating units.
- Guiders, please provide parents/guardians with the following forms: SG.1, SG.2, and H.1 forms.
- Guiders, please distribute the H.2 form to the adult participants.
- Guiders are responsible for completing the H.3 Medication Plan and Administration Record.
- Guiders must bring completed SG.2, H.1, and H.2 forms to the event.
Guider Responsibilities
Before the event
As noted in the Safe Guide section, Guiders are responsible for distributing and collecting appropriate paperwork for the participants attending from their unit.
At the event
Guiders are responsible for supervising their unit and ensuring the Safe Guide ratio is met for their unit.
OEFA
This event qualifies for Outdoor Experiences Financial Assistance (OEFA). If anyone in your unit requires assistance, please complete the attached form.
Payments - Unit transfer payment
By submitting a registration, you indicate that you've reviewed and agree to the Event Registration Terms & Conditions.
Within five days of your initial registration, the Event Staff will arrange for a transfer of your deposit from your unit. The deposit is 50% of the registration fee. The final balance transfer will occur within 30 days of the event. If you register within 30 days of the event, the full amount will be transferred from your unit. The office will be processing the transfers on your behalf.
***A National staff member will initiate payment, which will be collected via Unit Bank Transfer. The units do not need to take any action.
